Weekly lessons are held at The Music Suite (Sunday) and Neuqua Valley High School’s Kathryn J. Birkett Freshman Center (Monday–Thursday).

The Kulzick Violin Studio uses a monthly tuition model. Tuition covers four lessons per month at the student’s reserved day/time, with tuition due at the first lesson of each month. As of June, 2022, tuition is:

45 minute weekly slot: $210/month @ The Music Suite//$180/month @ Neuqua
60 minute weekly slot: $280/month @ The Music Suite//$240/month @ Neuqua

Note: IPSD 204 gives those who teach out of their facilities a discount on rent, hence the difference in tuition for Neuqua slots and non-Neuqua slots.
Lessons at Neuqua Valley High School are reserved for those who live in IPSD 204.

Tuition is due at the first lesson of each month. After an initial grace period of one week, a $5 late fee will be applied for each week payment is past due. Students may pay via personal check, cash (in a labeled envelope), or Zelle bank transfer. Any fees for bounced checks will be added to the next month’s tuition.

45 minute lessons are available to students from when they begin their studies until the end of 8th grade. 60 minute lessons are available to dedicated students in 5th grade and above. Middle schoolers who would like help with their orchestra music should enroll in 60 minute lessons. Students with twice-weekly lessons reserve two slots, each with the appropriate tuition.

Students are granted a makeup lesson for any lessons canceled with at least 24 hours’ notice, or due to family emergency*. Makeup lessons accumulate over the course of each quarter and expire after each quarterly studio recital. Students may accumulate up to three makeup lessons at any given time. Ms. Kulzick keeps a careful record of each student’s makeup lessons, but students are responsible for scheduling these lessons with Ms. Kulzick. *If students stay home from school sick or are sent home from school and give notice during the day, they will be granted a makeup lesson. Students who are sick who do not give notice during the day, or immediately after school, will not be granted a makeup lesson.

In months with five weeks, Ms. Kulzick may choose to take a week off (with appropriate notice). More often, this extra week will be used for makeup lessons, during students’ regular lesson slots. Students not in need of a makeup may choose to either take that week off from lessons or to preemptively bank a makeup lesson, to be applied later in the year if needed. If the student doesn’t end up needing a makeup, they will have received an extra, free lesson.

Lesson slots are reserved for students while they are active members of the studio. Students who leave the studio temporarily (due to travel or month-long conflicts) give up their lesson slot, and it may no longer be available when they rejoin the studio. The availability of Neuqua facilities changes dramatically during the summer, so the lesson schedule is reconfigured each summer, before returning to students’ typical school year times the following fall. The studio lesson schedule is set each May for the coming summer and each August for the coming school year.

Extra lessons are available, depending on Ms. Kulzick’s schedule, with tuition due at the beginning of each lesson. The per-lesson fee is:
